Do you consider yourself an expert on everything Old School RuneScape related? Is there no one in Gielinor who knows more about it than you do?
If your answer is “no”, do not worry – you will learn all that soon.
If your answer is “yes”, then we salute your confidence and invite you to prove your knowledge about all things RuneScape by collecting ALL Varrock Museum Kudos.
Complete OSRS Kudos Guide
Don’t worry - Varrock Museum is not only not boring but collecting Kudos will also unlock neat rewards! If you need more OSRS gold, feel free to buy it now before going through this mission.
How to Get All Kudos in OSRS
There are four ways Kudos can be collected in. These are:
- Answering Orlando Smith’s natural history quiz
- Cleaning finds
- Telling details of certain completed quests to Historian Minas
- Completing fossil exhibits
How to Get 153 Museum Kudos
Varrock Museum Quiz
The first activity available even for a fresh level 3 account in Varrock Museum is answering the questions in the natural history quiz. Not only players will learn about various rare species of Gielinor, but they will earn 28 Kudos and 1000 experience in both Hunter and Slayer.
Answering a question correctly will lead to the next step in the natural quiz. Players are not penalized in any way for answering a question incorrectly.
Cleaning Finds
Cleaning finds is another activity that rewards Kudos. These dirty finds can be acquired from the Dig Site and you will need to complete the quest.
The Dig Site area is located in the southern part on the first floor of Varrock Museum. Talk to any archaeologist there to begin the activity.
You will need to equip leather gloves and boots and take a trowel, rock pick, and specimen brush. Once you are all geared up, you can collect uncleaned finds from the specimen rocks next to the archaeologist Sinco Doar.
Clean the finds by using them on the open specimen tables. The maximum amount of Kudos you can earn this way is 50.
Quests for Kudos
Questing is a major activity in OSRS and it can’t be avoided when collecting Kudos. Historian Seth Minas, located on the second floor of Varrock Museum, is interested in the history of Gielinor.
He will gladly listen to the stories about certain quests you have completed. In exchange, he will reward you with antique lamps that grant experience in the skills of your choosing. These OSRS quests are:

Bone Voyage
Bone Voyage is a members-only quest unlocked after collecting 100 Kudos from Varrock Museum. It can be started by talking to Curator Haig Halen. Other quest requirements: sailed to Great Kourend at least once, completion of The Dig Site quest.
Bone Voyage quest unlocks access to Fossil Island and in turn additional OSRS gold making methods.
Fossil Exhibits
Fossil Island is an unexplored wonderland and a dreamland of any historian, archaeologist or paleontologist.
To earn more Kudos from the Varrock Museum you can collect various fossils from this mysterious location. The fossils have their appropriate displays on Varrock Museum’s paleontology floor, which can be accessed via stairs in the center of the natural history floor.
The displays are separated into small, medium, large, and plant. To start off your collection help Peter in the Museum Camp build all utilities and you will be rewarded 5 fossils.
With so many categories of fossils, it can get a bit confusing, but it’s actually quite simple: you need a set of limbs, spine, ribs, pelvis, and skull of the same size for animal displays, and a set of fossilized roots, stump, branch, leaf, and mushroom for plant displays.
Large displays are filled with parts that will, when completed, reveal the colossal Leviathan.
Kudos Rewards
In addition to other rewards, collecting Kudos unlocks these rewards:
- 100 Kudos: Access to Fossil Island
- 150 Kudos: Access to Volcanic Mine
- 153 Kudos: Access to the Workman’s gate, which leads to the Digsite. A requirement for the Hard Varrock diary.
Speak to the information clerk and receive:
- 51+ Kudos: 1000 XP in Mining
- 101+ Kudos: 2,500 XP in Crafting and Mining
- 151+ Kudos: 4,000 XP in Crafting, Hunter, Prayer, Slayer, and Smithing
