To kick things off, for those who are new and inexperienced, let's discuss the basics of an OSRS quest.

What's a Quest?

Quests are storyline build tasks that can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours or even a few days to complete.

The starting locations for all quests are labeled with a blue compass icon ()on the minimap, and completing them can provide rewards ranging from experience and items, to access to new areas, minigames, and mini-quests. All of these can help you make more OSRS gold in the long run.

As of January 11, 2021, one can find a total of 147 quests in OSRS divided into 21 Free-to-Play (F2P) and 126 Pay-to-Play (P2P) Quests.

If you will complete all the Old School RuneScape quests, you will end up having a total of 279 Quest Points and the special ability to purchase and wear the quest point cape.

We encourage you to view this Quest Table provided by OSRS Official Wiki Page and keep it open simultaneously throughout reading this guide.

The following table will include tips and tricks which can be very hard to get your hands on. These exclusive tips will enable you to go through the quests easily and efficiently.

The table below follows the same order as the table from the OSRS WIKI so if you are following this guide as a RuneScape beginner, it should work perfectly for you!

You just need to create your OldSchool Runescape Account (Remember to apply for Membership as we will also be going through P2P quests)

And start following our guide all the way up to achieving the Quest point Cape!

The First TIP we'd like to give you is to rush level 43 Prayer. This enables you to make use of Protection Prayers that will allow you to avoid taking most damage from most combat-related scenarios.

You will need to bury a total of 700 Dragon Bones that can be reduced down to ONLY 252 Dragon Bones if using a Guilded Altar in a Player Owned House.

The Second TIP would be to have an optimal inventory setup. There are a few items that we recommend to ALWAYS have with you and these are :

4 Stamina Potion (Bring two or three on each quest)
Emergency Teleport Method (We recommend buying a Player Owned House and using a Teleport to House Tab as your Emergency Method)
Runes or Teleportation Tablets (Depending on where you are required to travel throughout the quest)
Combat Equipment that matches your Stats (Always use the best offensive armor as this will speed up combat-related encounters)
A quick-banking method such as carrying a Ring of Wealth Charged (To easily access the Grand Exchange)

Teleportation Jewellery such as the Games Necklace, Ring of Dueling, Necklace of Passage, etc. are always worth carrying with you when needed.

Here's an example Setup that we recommend that you use while questing.

Note: If you still have a low magic level you can make use of teleportation tablets instead of runes for teleportation methods.

Why Should I Start Questing In OSRS?

If you are working on completing all the content that is available on Old School Runescape then Questing is one thing you will have to crack on!

Asides from presenting you with a legendary storyline, completing quests also grant Experience in several Skills and various high-tier OSRS items that you MUST get your hands on!

Here's a table of the BEST items we consider that one should go after, and these will require you to complete quests to obtain them.

The Great Brain Robbery	Unlocks the Barrelchest Anchor It is well known as a PKing weapon, used in combos such as anchor to Granite maul specials.

Taste of Hope	Unlocks the Drakan's Medallion Allows unlimited teleportation to Ver Sinhaza as well as Darkmeyer after the completion of Sins of the Father.
The Fremennik Exiles	Unlocks Neitiznot Faceguard Offers the best Melee stats especially Strength amongst all the helmets available.
Dragon Slayer II	Unlocks Ava's assembler and the Ferocious Gloves

Quest Name	Tips & Tricks
Dwarf Cannon	Make sure to purchase a Dwarf Cannon as soon as you finish this quest. Most of the Ranged Training will be accompanied by using your Dwarf Cannon to speed things up.
Waterfall Quest	The Max Hit of the Moss Guardians is that of a 14. We highly recommend boosting your HitPoints Temporarily by using a Saradomin Brew and if possible keep Protect from Melee ON when visiting Glarial's Tomb.
Tree Gnome Village	Protect From Melee is Highly Recommended while travelling towards the Khazard warlord (level 64 wolves are present) and while fighting the warlord himself. For those that do not have the Prayer Level for Protect from Melee, we recommend to use Magic and SafeSpot the Khazard Warlord.
Fight Arena	Use Magic for the Quest's Combat Encounter and also make use of the Safe Spot. DO NOT Fight the General Khazard, simply run out of the Arena as soon as the Bouncer is defeated. Protect from Melee should be switched on while escaping as you can be dealt multiple damage rapidly.
Gertrude's Cat	Make sure to carry your kitten with you from this point onwards and take care of it - it will require that you feed it some raw fish and interact with it every few minutes. This will enable you to speed through quests that require a CAT since kittens take a longer time to complete their tasks. PRO TIP: You can train an infinite amount of Kittens into Cats and trade them for 200 Death Runes by using your CAT on one of the Villagers at West Ardounge.
Ichlarin's Little Helper	This quest is difficult without Protect from Magic at level 37 Prayer and if the player's current combat level is low.
Tears of Guthix	PRO TIP: Once you complete this quest make sure that every week you visit and complete the Tears of Guthix Minigame. This will provide you with FREE experience in your lowest skill.
Monkey Madness I	While doing this quest it is recommended to collect one of each type of Monkey Bones by defeating the respective Monkey. These will save you time when doing the Recipe for Disaster: Awowogei Part!
Fairytale II - Cure a Queen	Once you complete this quest make sure that you always carry a Dramen Staff with you at all times! This enables you to make use of Fairy Rings which is one of the fastest ways to travel around OSRS!
Recipe for Disaster: The Final Battle	Remember that you can BANK after each enemy that you defeat!
Monkey Madness II	Kruk's Tunnel: Your agility level will not be high enough that will allow you to use the Agility Path efficiently, you will fail a lot! This will force you to use the Combat Path and for that reason here are a few tips. Use your best Melee DEFENSIVE armor and protect from Ranged at ALL TIMES until you reach the Final Area before Kruk. Switch to Melee Prayer at that point. While Encountering Kruk you can safe spot him. Check the Adjacent gif :) The Final Fight: We recommend that you use Ranged for the entire fight against Glough. Ruby Bolts (e) and Diamond Bolts (e) should be used. You can also make use of Safe Spots for the First and Second Phases. For the Final Fight, you can also avoid ALL damage, the adjacent gif showcase that :)
Dragon Slayer II	Galvek Fight Each phase of this boss has unique special attacks and lasts for as long as you can deal 300 hitpoints. It would be advantageous to be using ruby bolts at the start to reduce your chance of dying and putting focus on the end phases. The first phase of Galvik is where he will be launching fire traps around the ship, and is arguably the most lethal phase. Once you keep in mind that each bomb covers a 3x3 radius, you should be able to determine where to stand, but be quick! Also keep in mind that he does a regular Dragonfire attack and can teleport the player away, so don’t relax when you find a safe spot. The second phase is where he takes off into the air and does random ranged attacks towards the player. When he does his special wind attack, it can drain your stats slightly so having a super restore potion could be handy. Other than that, keep up the damage and it could be a quick phase. The third phase can be tricky for some, but with good latency, this should be a piece of cake. On the east side of the map, he will spawn a wall of water waves that will sweep the entire deck. Luckily there is just one empty tile where you can save yourself. There is a reasonable delay so line yourself up in the right tile and you will avoid damage. The dragon ball attack that his fire can deal 109 during the third phase, so that’s the most dangerous aspect. Similar to Vorkath, you need to move out of the last tile you stood or it’s going to be an instant death. During the last phase, he will land on the deck and be in a relatively vulnerable position. He will fire a projectile in the air, and if you stand in the same spot, your player will be put into a stone cage of sorts. Keep up the damage, and once defeated, you will get the ending cutscene.
Song of the Elves	Fighting the Fragment of Seren Use your best Magic Offensive gear for this OSRS quest. Use Protect from Missiles AT ALL TIME! The boss has Four Special Attacks that you need to keep note of, these attacks will always repeat themselves in the Same Order so 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1 etc until the boss is defeated! The first special attack teleports the player next to her. This will then be followed by a melee attack, so walk away quickly to avoid damage. The second special attack consists of spawning multiple copies of her, attacking the correct one (the lighter colored shadow) will despawn the false ones and cause the Fragment of Seren to reappear. The third special attack consists of multiple beams of red crystals that will surround the Fragment of Seren and heal her until they are destroyed (4-8 per heal per beam). Any attack will destroy them, so using a fast attack speed weapon such as darts. The final special attack is the most dangerous, she will teleport the player close to her and charge up an unblockable attack that's based on the player’s hitpoints, dealing all the way up to the player's maximum hitpoints minus 1, regardless of current hp. After clearing her third special, players should eat up close to their max hp, and then once she teleports the player eat to or above their max hp to survive this attack.
