Weaponry For Melee Training

Slow weapons usually hit a bit higher compared to faster weapons, but faster weapons are more consistent and give a better experience rate, along with faster damage. In terms of training all three, attack, strength, and defence, Scimitars are the best for training your melee combat all the way up to 50.

Once you’ve reached an attack and strength level of 50, the best in slot would be granite items like the hammer or longsword. However, if you reach 55 Slayer, the best in slow for level 50 weaponry would be the leaf-bladed sword.

At level 60 attack, you unlock dragon weaponry. The dragon scimitar is what you should be aiming for. However, wielding the scimitar requires the completion of the quest ‘the monkey madness’.

For those who haven’t completed the quest, there are other options like the normal dragon sword or longsword. Once your ‘attack + Strength level = 130’, you will gain access to the warrior’s guild. Inside this guild, you can get defenders from bronze – dragon, which requires a specific defence level to equip.

However, they give a very high attack and strength bonus as well as defensive and are a very important item on the shield slot while training melee combat.

Now, at combat level 70 you unlock a few more expensive options like the abyssal whip for training attack and defence, saradomin sword, or the abyssal bludgeon being the best two-handed weapon.

Whereas, at level 75 you unlock the best melee training combat weapon, called the ghrazi rapier. Also, at the same level, you unlock other weapons like the abyssal tentacle, blessed saradomin sword, and the staff of the dead. To get a hold of these items you will need a lot of RuneScape gold, but Probemas can always help you with that.

Slayer

The most efficient way in training melee on RuneScape through combat is slayer, it is recommended to start slayer at a combat level of 70 so that you have access to use the fairy slayer master as well as good gears and teleports.

It is also recommended to wear a slayer helmet or a black mask for your slayer task as they provide damage boost and accuracy bonus while being on a slayer task, along with a great melee experience.

You can make a lot of money when you get to level 99 slayer as many slayer monsters have quite valuable drops. Along the journey of getting 99 slayer, you may get 99’s in a lot of combat stats.

The Nightmare Zone

This is one of the fastest experience methods in-game. To take part in The Nightmare Zone (NMZ), you’ll have to complete at least 5 quests with bosses in them, you can start NMZ at a lower combat level.

However, it is recommended to have at the least 60 combat levels before you start, or else the experience rate gained through it, won’t be worth it.

The nightmare zone can very well be done AFK as well, wearing full dharok and lowering your hitpoints to 1 by using dwarven cake or the locator orb, is another very common, fast, and helpful way to gain combat experience.

There are also other benefits like, access to overloads and other potions, herbs boxes for OSRS GP, and imbuing your rings and other items etc.
