OSRS Construction Guide | Training From Level 1 To 99
28 Jun 2019, 07:21

There are some skills in Old School Runescape that can be very useful when you reach certain levels. Some of them are combat-related, others are not. This is the reason why we made this OSRS construction guide since construction is one of the most important non-combat skills for any high-level player in the game.
Building your own house is going to make life easier when it comes to teleporting or training certain skills such as Prayer.
Complete OSRS Construction Training Guide
In this OSRS construction guide, we are going to show you how to train your Construction skill from level 1 to 99 in a short time. This construction guide for OSRS players will be covering everything related to this skill. You might also want to get more suitable OSRS items for leveling this skill, we can help you with that, just head over to our OSRS Items Shop.
Training this skill requires you to buy a house from an Estate Agent for 1,000 OSRS GP. Once you have a house, you will be able to start training your Construction skill by building furniture all over your house.
Servants For OSRS Construction
Upon reaching Level 20 Construction, you will be able to hire a Servant from the servant house which is located in East Ardougne.
There are 5 types of Servants you can hire, each one has a required construction level to be unlocked. These Servants are used to bring you Planks from your own bank, which speeds up the construction training process.
The better the Servant, the more planks can be brought from the bank. Also, the trip time will be shorter, but the cost per item will be higher.
The available Servants can be unlocked at a Construction level of 20, 25, 30, 40, and 50. I would suggest you start using Servants from level 40 Construction because any Servant below Level 40 is not that good in terms of capacity and the trip also takes a long time.
The hired Servant will appear inside your house only if you have two bedrooms with beds inside each one of them. You won’t be able to hire another Servant until you fire your current Servant.
You will be able to ask the Servant to bring you planks from the bank for 8 times only. After that, you will need to re-pay the Servant to start responding to your orders. The money can only be paid through your inventory or via the servant’s moneybag which can be built inside your house at Construction level 58.
Building Rooms In Old School RuneScape
Building furniture inside your house requires you to be in Building Mode. There are many types of rooms that can be built inside your house, each has different types of furniture. Each room has a required construction level to be built and the same applies to any furniture. And of course, the higher the requirement, the higher the construction XP you gain.
Right-click on any door inside your house and select “Build Door hotspot” to be able to choose from a list of rooms that can be built depending on your Construction level.
OSRS Construction Guide From Level 1 To 99
As we continue with this OSRS construction guide, we will talk about what you can do for each construction level that your character is on to level up this skill fast.
Level 1 to 4 Construction
From level 1 to 4, you will need to build Crude Wooden Chairs in the Parlour room. Each chair needs 2 Planks and 2 Nails to be built. Nails can be bent, so the better the nails, the less they are likely to be bent. Nails are not expensive anyway, so buy a bunch of nails until you reach Oak Planks where Nails are not needed anymore. You will also need a Saw and a Hammer to be able to build anything.
Each chair gives 58 XP, so only 10 regular planks will be needed to reach level 4.
Level 4 to 9 Construction
From level 4 to 9, you will need to build Wooden Bookcases in the Parlour room. Each Bookcase needs 4 Planks and 4 Nails to be built.
Building one Wooden Bookcase gives you 115 XP and only 28 Planks will be needed to reach level 9.
Level 9 to 22 Construction
From level 9 to 22, you will need to build Wooden Larders in the Kitchen. Each Wooden Larder requires 8 Planks and 8 Nails to be built.
Building one Wooden Larder gives you 228 XP and only 168 Planks will be needed to reach level 22.
Level 22 to 33 Construction
From level 22 to 33, you will need to build Oak Tables in the Dining Room. Each Oak Table requires 4 Oak Planks. No Nails will be needed from now on as you won’t use the regular Planks anymore.
Building one Oak Table gives you 240 XP and only 216 Oak planks will be needed to reach level 33.
You can also start building Carved Oak tables at level 31 Construction, each one gives you 360 XP and requires 6 Oak Planks instead of 4. Only 10 tables will be needed to get yourself from level 31 to 33.
Level 33 to 52 Construction
From level 33 to 52, you will need to build Oak Larders in the Kitchen. Each Oak Larder requires 8 Oak Planks.
Building one Oak Larder gives you 480 XP and only 1,760 Oak Planks will be needed to reach level 52.
Level 52 to 99 Construction
From level 52 to 99, you will need to build Mahogany Tables in the Dining Room. Each Mahogany Table requires 6 Mahogany Planks.
Building one Mahogany Table gives you 840 XP and 92,220 Mahogany Planks are needed to reach level 99.
This is the fastest way to reach level 99 in the game, but it is very expensive. The cost of 92,220 Mahogany planks is around 185M Gold. But of course, we will show you some cheap alternative ways to reach level 99. Keep in mind that these ways are going to be slower than building Mahogany Tables.
If you are going to follow the cheap alternative ways, then you will only need 2,662 Mahogany Planks to reach level 66 Construction before following the cheap ways.
Level 66 to 74 Construction (Alternative)
From level 66 to 74, you will need to build Teak Garden Benches in the Superior Garden. Each Teak Garden Bench requires 6 Teak Planks.
Building one Teak Garden Bench gives you 540 XP and 6,672 Teak Planks will be needed to reach level 74.
Level 74 to 99 Construction (Alternative)
From level 74 to 99, you will need to build Oak Dungeon Doors in the Dungeon room. Each Oak Dungeon Door requires 10 Oak Planks.
Building one Oak Dungeon Door gives you 600 XP and 198,970 Oak Planks are needed to reach level 99.
You can keep building Teak Garden Benches instead, but it’s all depending on your budget.
Overall, reaching high levels of Construction will allow you to use many useful things inside your house. The Ornate Pool is one of them which can be built at level 90 Construction and it rests all your stats, hitpoints, and almost everything.
There is also the fairy ring which allows you to teleport directly from your house through the fairy teleport system and can be built at level 85 Construction. The Nexus Portal is another thing that allows you to teleport almost everywhere and you need level 92 Construction to build it.
Final Thoughts About Construction Skill In OSRS
Now, choosing a way to train your Construction totally depends on how much are you willing to spend. Keep in mind that construction XP per hour ratios can’t be accurately calculated since it will be different for each one depending on lags and how fast you can get used to the process.
Hopefully, this OSRS construction training guide has been helpful in increasing your skill level quickly.
